Cant wait to see the outcome of this even and the waves it causes. The TRI STATE BATTLE CRY starts at 7 tonight in the Continental Center stadium. Pray that God will take these kids by storm and secure them in his arms.

TEENS RALLY IN TIMES SQUARE TO CHANGE POP CULTURE AS WE KNOW IT.
A quarter of a million teens are out to change pop culture as we know it through Teen Mania's RECREATE '08. The goal; to raise important issues facing this generation and to find a platform to express important ideas through the arts using Film, Television, New Media, Music, Theater, and Art of all kinds with the message of hope for the future.

Following through on those ideals, Teen Mania's CENTER FOR CREATIVE MEDIA produced a music video for the band PILLAR entitled "Frontline." The video has aired on MTV's "Headbanger's Ball."
Teen Mania teens rally to RECREATE an American pop culture that builds up, not tears down their generation.

To bring support to those suffering from disease and hunger the world over, Teen Mania's Center for Creative Media produced the following video for the ONE CAMPAIGN featuring the band SKILLET.

The goal: For teens to exercise their vision and heart in a way that has a positive impact on their generation. Teens need to exercise their vision. While visual over-sexualization, graphic violence, and the glamorization of drug/alcohol usage prevail in most of what is released in mainstream media today... Teen Mania seeks to encourage a voice under-represented in that market place: The voice of hope, positive expression, and dreams. The same voice that reaches the millions who seek after movies like The Chronicles of Narnia and The Passion of the Christ.
REAL LIVES - With teen suicide, drug use, STDs, eating disorders, and anxiety at an all-time high, these quarter of a million teens are out to RECREATE in '08 a healthier pop culture on behalf of their 29 million-strong generation. (U.S. Census 2006).
One in two sexually active youth will contract an STD by age 25.Source
In the past 25 years, while the general incidence of suicide has decreased, the rate for those between 15 and 24 has tripled. It is generally considered to be the second or third most common cause of death among adolescents, even though it is seriously underreported.Source
40% of teens have experimented with self-injury
MEDIA - Stats show that:
Teenagers see 6.7 sexual scenes per hour on teen television shows (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2005)
MTV viewers watch, on average, nine sexual scenes and more than eight profanities per hour (Parents Television Council, 2005).
90 percent of 8-to-16-year-olds have accidentally viewed porn online while doing homework (Family Safe Media, 2005).
WORLD - And it's not just in the United States, Teen Mania teens recognize that their peers all over the world are also fighting for their lives as they too struggle with life-threatening issues including AIDS and the sex-slave industry.
During the last decade, the number of children who are orphaned as a result of AIDS rose from 3.5% to 32% and will continue to increase exponentially as the disease spreads unchecked. Source
Human trafficking is the third most profitable criminal activity, following only drug and arms trafficking. An estimated $9.5 billion is generated in annual revenue from all trafficking activities, with at least $4 billion attributed to the worldwide brothel industry. (Ibid.) Source
Coming to the Advertising Capitol of the world & the heart of tv production that shapes much of teen pop culture... we are lifting our voices and saying: We have a voice that deserves to be heard and thoughts that deserve space in the marketplace of creative expression.
